A box of a newly bought demolition hammer for construction use

We are starting a DIY-ish home renovation.

I say ish because we are not pounding nails with hammers in our fists, painting the walls with our hands, or piping together our own plumbing. We did not engage a contractor, but directly hired a foreman whom we have worked with before.

My mom loves flipping houses, and yesterday we were on a mission to find scaffolding for her latest project. We went to a local shop and there I discovered that scaffolding had various thickness to them and that there was a special device to measure the tubes. It was a good thing that the foreman tagged along in our adventure!

Along the way, we also dropped by Wilcon, a builder supply shop, and bought a demolition hammer to help remove the floor tiles that will be replaced with new ones.

Our foreman also called this a “rotary”. Beats me!

The work starts 4 days from now and there is still much to prepare!

Later today we will view some of our options for floor tiles. I wonder what will catch our attention. Wish us luck!
