So now I am picking up yet another hobby… As if I did not have enough, ha! I learned how to crochet back in school. I remember enjoying it a lot, but never really thought about it much since because there was no more requirement to make something for the grade.

Knitting is very popular here in Norway, but that is something I never learned. It also looks more difficult to me because of the need for two needles. I could be wrong, though.

In any case, I figured I would restart with something I know, and true enough my muscle memory kicked in the moment I held the hook and yarn. I did also watch YouTube videos to refresh my memory, but I’m happy that chains came naturally as I moved.

Here is what I am working on now.

Circle crochets are amazing. They are like a fibonacci sequence whenever you “increase” the next round, and I can’t get over it. (I am yet again geeking out on math and art like I did with the sourdough.) I can’t wait to make more.

For my first project, I’m working on some things for the house. We have a plant and a watering can that has need of mats. Right now, they are sitting on paper towels and we have been meaning to get them something. Well, why not make it instead?

I’m so excited to create more things out of yarn and see where this hobby takes me!
